Born in Italy, Stefano Ranieri is a DJ and producer whose journey has been deeply connected to House Music since 1990.
His passion for music began at an early age, listening to his older brother’s vinyl records and cassette tapes and discovering Funk, Rock, Soul and Disco along the way. During his teenage years, he became a regular at record stores, where he developed a strong connection with House and Underground Music — sounds that would go on to shape his artistic identity.
From his first experiences playing at local parties in his hometown, Stefano gradually entered the club scene, performing throughout the 1990s in some of Italy’s most important venues. Over the years, his journey also took him beyond national borders, reaching significant milestones at internationally renowned clubs such as Le Bain in New York and Djoon in Paris.
After fifteen intense years as a resident and guest DJ, he chose to dedicate more and more of his energy to studio work and music production.
The year 2017 marked a major turning point in his career with his connection to Nulu Music and Nulu Electronic, two labels that gave him the freedom to fully express his artistic vision across different shades of House Music.
From that moment on, he released a long series of productions, including “Less Talk”, “News From Afrika”, “Trax Exploration”, “Break The Beat”, the album “Risonanza”, “Taste Of The Future”, “It Could Happen” and “Al Telun”.
Over the years, his music has received support from artists such as Anané, Louie Vega, Kenny Dope, Masters At Work, Seth Troxler, Carl Cox, Bob Sinclar, Nic Fanciulli and Dennis Cruz, while also finding its way into DJ sets and radio shows around the world.
In 2025, Stefano Ranieri founded Risonanza, a label created to develop a personal musical vision, give space to new ideas and support productions defined by identity, research and quality. In a short period of time, the label established a strong and recognizable identity, becoming a reference point for Afro House lovers and beyond, with a catalogue open to musical crossovers and different expressions of electronic music.
Alongside his work with Risonanza, Stefano continues to develop numerous collaborations and releases with respected names and labels across the international scene.
Among his most significant recent projects are the collaboration with the historic Nervous Records alongside legendary artist Oscar G on the single “Los Amigos”, the success of “Dope”, released on Rocco Rodamaal’s Memories label, and “Saxofon Loco”, released on Doug Gomez’s Merecumbe Recordings, which reached the number one position on the Afro Latin chart.
These represent only some of the most recent chapters in an artistic journey that continues to evolve, driven by passion, more than three decades of experience and a constant desire to explore new directions without ever losing touch with his roots.
For Stefano, music always comes first. Before trends, expectations, strategies and any form of compromise. It is the one place where true freedom can exist, and for that reason it must be protected, respected and followed all the way through — even when that means choosing the harder path.
